Ballymote Family Resource Centre officially opened our sensory room in February 2017.
Ballymote was one of the first FRC’s in the country to develop a sensory room such as this for children with special needs. Sometimes parents of special needs children feel like they have to fight for every little thing and this is something we can do for them, to give something back.
The sensory room helps to develop language and motor skills. It will help develop all of the five senses and meet the therapeutic needs of these children.
This is a calming and relaxing space for them and offers a kind of escapism too. We have the very best of equipment for the children and we are very grateful to TUSLA for giving us the funding to develop the room.
